Soldiers with claims dating to 2001 may receive $500 for each month they were extended

ARLINGTON, Va. — All soldiers who spent extra time on active duty because of stop loss since September 2001 will be eligible by for $500-per-month cash payouts that could begin arriving later this year, an Army compensation official said.

Earlier this year, the Army began compensating soldiers held under stop-loss since October 2008, but Congress has expanded the program to include all troops stop-lossed since September 2001.

Those eligible under the program can receive $500 for every month they were held beyond his or her initial end of obligated service, said Deborah Holman, deputy chief of compensation for Army G-1.

So much emotion seems to be invested from both sides about this political and possibly media poisoned debate about health care. Is it access that we need? What about reform for those who already have some form of health care?

Today, as I spoke with a friend of mine, who is a fellow Troop in the Air Force Reserve and who also happens to be a teacher in central Texas, he told me of the mandetory $700 per month that his school district charges for family health care. Some people may think that this is fare. Personally, I think this is a bit steep. In my civilian life I am a licenced health care and life insurance agent. So I now that there are much more affordable premiums than what my friend is forced to pay.

Even though I am military, I can't speak for the military members and their families who may or may not be affected by this health care reform. All I can say is that I DO support reform is some way. I just do not know or understand the current plan. I'm tired of the misinformation being put out by both parties and in the media. It seem's lie Lou Dobb's is the only new's anchor who is bringing it straight with out trying to impose his opinion onto everyone.

Many people use the excuse that they don't have time to workout, so they don't do anything at all. It is better to get in quick workouts than to not exercise at all. Better yet, finding quick and efficient workouts can have the same effect that longer programs may have on your body. Here are some great ideas for quick workouts when you are short on time.

Tweeting is in...for a lot of reasons. Relationships, news, networking, branding, fun, and yes, the little blue bird is even used for traffic generation. Besides links embedded in tweets and the "Website" portion of the bio in the upper right hand corner of every Twitter profile page, direct messages (DMs) are used for generating traffic.

I write this article in the middle of the continuing debate...should we or should we not use services that send automated DMs to people who choose to follow us? Many say NO, no matter what.

So why are you telling me how to send Twitter Auto DMs?

So it is getting to close to that time. We will be BETA testing soon and I am happier than a faget with a trash bag full of ........... well, you know what I mean. I'm pretty dang on happy. As you can see, the site is coming along very well. Military members and supporters will have a great central hub of interaction.

You all know we've been doing this for a long time. Myself, Jose Flores and Bryan Miller have spent countless hours and dollars to continue to serve our comrades, their families, and those who support what we do. Hopefully, we will be able to get on one of the news channels like CNN or MSNBC to presebt our military websites to the nation. We also plan to hit some radio stations, military magazines, business magazines, internet and computer magazines, and a few newspapers. So if any of you have the resources to offer up a helping hand please keep us in mind.

We commend others like military.com and communityofveterans.org for their hard work and dedication and we too will soon be amongst these websites as one of the best resources availible to service members and their families.
