San Antonio/TX(April 2009).TrewCap (Media) Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of their website, PrideMe.com. The website seeks to serve both serving and veteran military members, their families and supporters. The concept is to provide a viable and friendly platform for a category of professionals whose occupation makes them so busy that they infrequently interact with the public, their own families and friends.
The Veteran Founders of the site remark that they created the simple, safe and intuitive website to help people with interest in the military stay connected wherever they may be in the world. According to Michael T. Washington, a co- founder, "We have chosen to be Troops who support Troops."
They state that Prideme.com is more than a social network website. In their opinion, it shall serve the function of providing members with a community from which they could undertake a myriad of activities including video chatting, discussion of common interests at forums, posting of jobs and business opportunities to classifieds, and establishing blogs and articles on their own. In sum, it is a website at which a user will be able to save time and effort by having all they need to network and interact at one location.
Prideme.com has an innovative feature called the Mil Matching System. This feature will post information on similar interests on a member's control panel. The benefit is that you do not have to do any extensive search to find out about people or other members who will appeal to you most. You have the information on your control panel for immediate contact. From this simplified panel, you will be able to get in touch with other members, get informed on joining the military, and network with other professionals that can help guide your career path.
Another unique feature is the "Prides" or Points system. These rewards are offered when a member is able to complete certain actions on the site such as starting a group or posting onto a blog. The award of points will also be done by members. A member so awarded will gain more recognition and respect on the site. For example, a member who posts a video will get 10 Prides. The accumulated Points will be displayed by a member's name for all to see.
Another interesting aspect of the website is the video chat that has been integrated into the site. You do not need to launch any special application to avail yourself of the video chat. Right inside the website you will be able to fully carry on a video chat with your colleague or loved one. This application is great for deployed service members who want to chat with and see multiple family members at on time.
Prideme.com will afford members and users the opportunity to look for jobs from their simple job search interface. This feature also allows users to post any job vacancies that they may have for other members to apply. Other features of the website include the ability of members to post military based videos. By the explanation of the Founders, members can capture extraordinary acts of bravery, happy moments or simply comical shots onto the site for other members viewing. Members will also be able to read about testimonies from their colleagues or other veterans. These accounts could serve as words of encouragement to readers. A user can also share information or expertise with the easy to use blog or just a group for others with similar interest to join.
According to the Founders, the website is to serve as encouragement to other veterans who have high tech dreams but may have stalled because of the notion that they need to be expert programmers or skilled web designers to be successful in this industry. They put it this way" We want to set an example for other veterans that have a high-tech dream and let them know that a little bit of skills, ambition, and a vision can carry you a long way. We have finally become successful in one of our goals and hope that we are able to truly make an impact on both the military and internet communities. So follow us as we lead the way".
Prideme.com can be joined by any one from around the world and user's accounts will be activated the same day they join.
About the Founders
Prideme.com was founded by three army veterans who have twice served in Iraq. After splitting from their units, they thought of a way to stay connected wherever they will be and the idea of a military oriented website with enhanced social networking features came to mind. The founders have since been working on this idea and though they have developed other websites, Prideme.com is their first military website intended to help their colleagues, families and fans stay connected.
